Project Overview
Many parents have busy schedules and are unable to afford expensive private teachers. In order for them to feel assured that their children are performing well in school, they need a cheap, quick, and easy solution to connect with local college students trained as tutors with their high-school kids.

Our Goal
We want to provide a community with qualified tutors nearby who can assist high-school students on an array of different subjects. The app should be interactive and easy to use for everyone.
My Contributions
Conducted user research and completed the design process from start to finish.
Started with digital wireframes and conducted usability studies.
Iterated the design from the information of the interviews into a low-fi prototype.




Went through a second round of interviews and transitioned to mockups and hi-fi prototypes. Tested the prototype with target customers, took the feedback, and created the final prototype.
Information Architecture

When designing the mobile site, mapping out the user flow is important. This process changed in the usability study when participants pointed out that it was important to be able to edit the lesson after it was booked.

Modifications after Usability Study #2

Some participants expressed concern that there was no messaging feature. They wanted to message the Tutor's directly on the app. I added this section under the user's profile settings, and created a Chatroom

Booking a Tutor workflow highlights

From the homepage, a parent is able to easily navigate to the "Book a Lesson" button and select the information and the Tutor of his/her liking. After this is done, the parent is able to book the Tutor and will be met with a booking confirmation page after clicking the "book appointment" button on the last slide.

The lessons tab shows upcoming and completed tutors, you can check their profiles & read their reviews as well as check the confirmation of the booking with a chance to edit it.
