Project Overview
We’re designing a movie trailer app for local theaters. The app should include all local showtimes and movie trailers, along with typical profile info to personalize the experience.
The Problem
Many movie trailer apps are not localized and don’t accommodate all users’ needs.
The Goal
We want to provide great quality movie trailers for local theaters that’s interactive and easy to use for everyone..
My Contributions
Complete UX design process from user research, creating the problem statement, conducting a competitive audit, paper wire-framing, idea creating, digital wire-framing, creating a low-fi prototype, hi-fi prototype, building a case study, testing with target audience, and planning out future steps to implement.

I conducted interviews and created empathy maps to gain a better understanding of the target user audience I’m designing for and their needs. A primary user group identified in my research was young college students and older empty-nesters who are looking for that work/life balance while also being outgoing and theater/movie enthusiasts.

The user group confirmed initial assumptions about using a movie trailer app, but research also revealed that saving time and having good quality trailers was not the only factor limiting users from using a movie trailer app.

Other user problems included adding closed captions, contrast-mode settings, an offline feature, being all-inclusive and displaying local showtimes & where to buy tickets, screen readers, synopses, not a lot of clutter in the app, or challenges that make it difficult to view the trailers and find what they’re looking for.

      Digital Wireframes

As the initial design phase continued, I used the paper wireframe to form the digital one.
I based decision-making on user research and peer feedback.
